Summary

Italy offers serveral tax incentives for heat pump installations:

  1. Ecobonus: The relief consists of a tax deduction of a percentage of the expenses incurred and remaining the responsibility of the taxpayer to be divided into several annual installments of equal amount. In 2025, the deduction must be divided into 10 years and is currently 50% for primary residences and 36%.
  2. Superbonus 110%: Covers up to 110% of installation costs when combined with other energy efficiency upgrades.
  3. Thermal Account (Conto Termico): Offers rebates for energy efficiency improvements.
The measure has undergone numerous extensions, through amendments in the budget laws, which have postponed the years in which the measure expires. The rates have been raised to 36% for the first home and to 30% for the others in 2026 and 2027.
